About The Position

Interstate Waste Services in DANBURY, CT is Now Hiring CDL B FRONT LOAD Truck Drivers! Safety is our first Priority! This position requires at least 1 year of verifiable Commercial Driving experience AND experience driving a Front Load Garbage Truck. Front Load Drivers with Front Load experience paid $23 / $25 hour. Highlights: Monday thru Friday with occasional Saturday hours. Early start time - 5am-6am. Hourly pay - with overtime pay. 1 Year verifiable CDL experience required - some roll-off experience required. Requirements

• 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL.
• Airbrake endorsement.
• 1-year CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
• Great safety record and clean MVR.
• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the general public and understand highway traffic signals.
• Ability to read and understand a map.
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position.
• Willing and able to work required hours as allowed under DOT regulation, which may include weekend, night, and/or holiday work.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company.
• Highly skilled in backing maneuvers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Front, Side, or Rear-Loading Trucks for the pick-up service of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material.
• Transport the material to a disposal, transfer, or recycling facility, making one or more trips throughout the shift.
• Deploy both manual and automatic trucks.
• Repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds and move and maneuver up to 100 pounds.
• Mount and dismount the truck multiple times every route.
• Perform driver pre and post inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
