About The Position

Requirements

  • Experience in performing maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal trucking regulations.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with co-workers and document work accurately.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with onboard computer systems in trucks.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance of medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and reefer units under minimal supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations.
  • Communicate and interact with co-workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Document, complete, and keep current on Work Orders for all repairs and parts used daily.
  • Perform road call services as needed.
  • Complete and perform preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/ repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units).
  • Identify root causes of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required.
  • Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed as roadworthy.
  • Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
  • Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition which may require replacement of parts.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
