About The Position

Interstate Waste Services is Now Hiring CDL B Side Load Truck Drivers! Safety is our first Priority! We are looking for drivers who have side truck driving experience in the waste industry. The position offers an hourly pay of $30.66 with overtime pay, and the schedule is Monday through Friday from 5am to 3:30pm. Interstate Waste Services is the most progressive and innovative provider of solid waste and recycling services in the country, primarily servicing Northern New Jersey, Southern New York State, New York City, and recently expanded operations into Pennsylvania and Ohio. Our mission is to provide the highest quality waste, recycling, and environmental services while focusing on employee, customer, and environmental safety.

Requirements

• 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with airbrake endorsement.
• 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
• Great safety record and clean MVR.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the general public and understand highway traffic signals.
• Ability to read and understand a map.
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Ability to navigate through congested communities and confined areas in city locations.
• Highly skilled in backing maneuvers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for the pick-up service of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material.
• Transport material to a disposal, transfer, or recycling facility, making one or more trips throughout the shift.
• Perform manual and automatic truck operations.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds repeatedly.
• Mount and dismount the truck multiple times every route.
• Conduct pre and post inspections of the truck to ensure compliance with safety standards.
