About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Byhalia, Mississippi, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a rewarding driving career. Drivers can expect to earn $1800 or more per week, with a minimum weekly guarantee of $1657.64. Compensation includes solo miles at $0.65 per mile (with approximately 1800 miles per week), solo stops at $15.00 per stop (with 12-18 stops per week), per diem of $50.00 per night (for 4 nights per week), and touch freight pay of $0.15 per piece (with approximately 1000 pieces per week). Paid training is provided. The schedule ensures drivers are home for resets, with start times varying based on Hours of Service (HOS). Drivers will deliver solo to states including AL, AR, FL, KY, MS, LA, TN, IN, MO, and KS, and may travel to other states for customer locations. The role involves an assigned sleeper unit tractor, dry van trailer, and handling touch freight (tires). Trucks are 36 months or newer, come with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance, and company drivers can fuel up at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide. Ryder emphasizes transparency regarding pay, routes, and schedules. The company also offers to purchase trucks from individuals considering becoming company drivers and provides unlimited referral bonuses for hired drivers. Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
  • Over the road and high touch freight experience required

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Performs other duties as assigned
