About The Position

Ryder is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver for a part-time regional position based in Lexington, NC. This role involves solo deliveries across multiple states including NC, SC, GA, MS, AL, TN, VA, WV, OH, MI, PA, IL, IA, MO, MN, WI, MD, NJ, and NY. Drivers will operate a sleeper tractor with a 53' dry van trailer, handling freight consisting of windows and doors, which requires tailgating and sliding items from inside the trailer to the back door for scanning. The schedule is Sunday to Friday with varying start times, and drivers can expect to spend 3-5 nights per week in the truck. Ryder offers competitive weekly pay, an hourly rate of $21.00, a sign-on bonus, and additional pay for nights spent in the truck and a robust backhaul program. Paid training, uniforms, and a boot allowance are provided. Ryder emphasizes driver safety and autonomy, allowing drivers to make safety decisions. Requirements

Minimum 21 years of age
Pass a Ryder Drug Test
Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
Must have 1 Year Sleeper Experience

Responsibilities

Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
Maintaining accurate records and logs
Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
Performs other duties as assigned

Benefits

Weekly pay ($700-$900 per week)
Hourly Pay: $21.00
Sign On Bonus: $625 after 30 days and $625 after 90 days
$65 per night in the truck with 3 - 5 nights per Week
