About The Position

The Class A Driver is responsible for operating tractor-trailers safely and efficiently to transport goods in accordance with all Company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This role supports shipping and logistics operations by moving trailers within facilities, transporting them to offsite locations (3 rd party vendors) for repairs or maintenance, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained and documented.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends & holidays as needed.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, safety procedures, and company driving policies.
  • Ability to operate tractor-trailers and related equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Basic mechanical understanding to identify and report equipment issues.
  • Proficient in using mobile or onboard communication systems.
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to teamwork and safety excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual – English/Spanish (Preferred).
  • Experience with refrigerated trailers (reefers) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate tractor-trailers to move loads between loading docks to yards, within and offsite facilities.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractors and trailers, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company standards.
  • Complete daily yard audits and equipment inventory.
  • Transport trailers to and from offsite maintenance or inspection facilities as required.
  • Fuel trailers and check refrigeration units to ensure proper operation and temperature compliance.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and yard movement records.
  • Communicate effectively with the shipping team and warehouse to coordinate trailer movements, outbounds, and transfers.
  • Report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
  • Follow all safety and operational procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free yard.
