About The Position

This position is for a Class A Driver, requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with flexibility for overtime, including Saturdays. The role involves essential duties such as conducting documented pre-trip inspections, securing loads according to safety requirements, maneuvering trailers in confined spaces, knowing safe travel routes and clearances, identifying materials for load checking, completing logbooks when necessary, and accurately filling out various paperwork. The driver will also be responsible for loading and unloading trucks using an overhead crane and forklift. Key job-related characteristics include adherence to safety rules, maintaining a positive attitude with customers and colleagues, good hygiene, strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent measuring skills and adaptability to fast-paced changes, lean manufacturing, and multi-tasking are also required, along with dependable and regular attendance.

Requirements

• Possess a Class A license
• Maintain a current DOT physical card
• High School Diploma or GED
• Individuals must be able to perform each essential duty at a minimum satisfactory level
• Individuals must possess the required education/experience, job related characteristics and specialized skills/certifications
• Current MVR should show no more than one (1) speeding ticket

Responsibilities

• Ability to do documented pre-trip inspection including fifth wheel plate condition, air line and wiring pigtail
• Able to bind loads to proper safety requirements
• Able to back a trailer into tight spaces
• Know routes for safe travel and clearance
• Able to identify materials to be able to check loads
• Able to do logbook when necessary
• Capable of completing various types of paperwork with 95% accuracy
• Loads and unloads trucks with overhead crane and forklift
• Other duties as assigned
