About The Position

Primary responsibility is to drive a heavy truck at an excess capacity of more than three (3) tons; to specified destinations and locations, and to perform the following duties. Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water. Drives truck or equipment to assigned location. Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations. Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive instructions. Cleans inside of truck. Performs routine maintenance on truck or equipment. Must have a working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and practice them. When assigned, will open a work order so time may be charged out to assigning department. Reports accidents to HR immediately, obtaining names, license numbers and other details. Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery of vehicle or equipment. Must work with and for all departments in harmony. Requirements

  • This position requires a CDL Class A license and clean driving record to remain insurable.
  • A minimum of two years long distance driving experience.
  • High skill level driving heavy trucks.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work.
  • Acceptable written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a customer service focus with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
  • Must have initiative and the ability act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
  • Must possess a strong desire to learn
