About The Position

At PARR, the Driver Crane position is essential to fulfilling the needs of our customers by making sure they are receiving their orders on-time and in great condition. This position is responsible for driving trusses to jobsites and using their crane to safely drop material off. The ideal crane driver is someone driven to maintain safety regulations and provide above and beyond customer service.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old or older
  • Class A CDL required
  • Air-brake endorsement required
  • Current NCCCO certification
  • Current DOT Medical Card
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English required
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and reports of any malfunctioning equipment
  • Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience
  • Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications
  • Driving experience within 50-mile radius of primary location preferred

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently load and unload building materials from commercial motor vehicle
  • Legally, safely, and efficiently travel to destinations through public and private roads
  • Learns and uses route planning and optimization
  • Follow delivery procedures by taking photos of delivered shipment after completing each delivery
  • Maintain yard, warehouse, and vehicle cleanliness during course of work
  • Keep truck supplied, organized, and clean
  • Check load for accuracy
  • Proactively manages job site conditions for next delivery and communicates with others
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post trip inspections of all equipment
  • Perform required safety audit of vehicle and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment
  • Promptly report all accidents/incidents
  • Writes legibly on all materials
  • Annually update driver's qualification file as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
  • Provides required paperwork and scanning for dispatch
  • Ensures that all material transported on the truck has a delivery packet
  • Provides feedback related to customers, jobsites, issues, etc.
  • Reads and follows instructions on deliveries
  • Contacts customers before next delivery
  • Establishes good relationships with sales team and seeks to be their 'eyes and ears' in the field
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Assists other team members with work when appropriate
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
