About The Position

The US Foods® Driver position is a critical role within the foodservice distribution industry, responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely. This position requires effective communication with dispatchers and warehouse supervisors, ensuring that all equipment is prepared for daily deliveries. The role emphasizes physical capability, as drivers must handle heavy loads and operate in various weather conditions. Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience preferred
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and enter information on reports and records.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with driving in inclement weather conditions
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Dispatcher/Router for truck/trailer and door assignments
• Keep assigned equipment coupled
• Move trailers between buildings as directed by Router or Warehouse Supervisor
• Load, unload, or merge loads between environments
• Stage shuttle trailers nightly for shuttle drivers
• Set up trailers for backhaul with tractor and empty pallets
• Place backhauls in correct door to be unloaded by warehouse
• Ensure all equipment is paired and ready for next day's deliveries
• Work with mechanics nightly
• Attend all required company meetings
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
