About The Position

AZZ has an exciting 1st shift opportunity for a Class A CDL Driver at our Blacksburg South Carolina facility. Reporting to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor you will help deliver our steel products safely and on time, while maintaining great customer relationships. This is for daily routes (no OTR) only.

Requirements

A CDL – Class A license under no type of suspension is required
2-5 years of commercial driving experience is required
Must have experience operating a flatbed trailer truck
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High School diploma or equivalent is required

Nice To Haves

Experience hauling steel or industrial machinery is preferred

Responsibilities

Will drive a tractor-trailer truck combination to transport and deliver goods to and from designated locations.
Inspect and maintains vehicle supplies and equipment such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure that vehicle is in proper working condition.
Utilize handheld computer to document incoming and outgoing loads.
Obey traffic laws and follows established traffic and transportation procedures.
May be required to load and unload material from trucks.
Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
Deliver bills, turn in receipts and money received from deliveries.
Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo or billing statements in accordance with regulations.
Read maps and follows written and verbal geographic directions.
