About The Position

Southwest Mobile Storage in Rancho Cucamonga is looking for an expert CDL-A driver. You are the eyes, ears and heart of our business, connecting operations and sales to provide the best service to our customers. We’re a team-oriented company, so there will be times when you’ll be asked to adjust your route or delivery schedule and use your own independent judgement.

Requirements

  • Must be able to drive a 10-speed manual transmission.
  • 2 years’ recent CDL Class A experience
  • Valid medical certificate and physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle.
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Must possess good dexterity in shoulders, lower back and knees.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Authorized for employment in the U.S. (sponsorships not available, E-Verify employer)
  • Ability to pass 10 panel drug tests
  • Ability to pass a thorough background screening and MVR

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with a heavy duty 10-wheel rollback winch truck with hydraulic tilt bed a plus
  • Towing experience a plus
  • Landoll trailer experience helpful
  • Be punctual and reliable.
  • Have a safety-oriented mind set

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition and report any defects to dispatch or management.
  • Follow designated routes to ensure timely delivery and pickup of containers.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding delivery/pickup details and handle C.O.D. payments when applicable.
  • Complete daily logs and Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) to comply with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Safely operate a commercial vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs and towing capacity exceeding 10,000 lbs.
  • Handle and transport containers securely, ensuring safety during transport.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, refueling, and tire checks, to keep the vehicle running efficiently.
  • Maintain open communication with dispatch to update delivery status and ensure timely service.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
