This position involves the timely pickup, labeling, loading, and delivery of shipments, utilizing the required equipment, policies, and procedures. The role may require driving a tractor-trailer unit to one or more customer locations and returning to the original domicile during the same shift. Driver/Dockworkers are expected to work various shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, depending on operational needs. This position is crucial for ensuring that packages are delivered efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall customer satisfaction that UPS is known for. In addition to driving responsibilities, the Driver/Dockworker will be responsible for loading, unloading, shipping, receiving, scanning, sorting, and stocking packages. This may involve the use of various pieces of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including pallet movers and stand-up forklifts, to handle palletized freight. The ability to lift up to 70 lbs is essential for this role, as it requires physical strength and stamina to manage the demands of the job. The Driver/Dockworker is expected to comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided uniform.
