The delivery driver will transfer products, goods, and other merchandise from one location to another. This position involves driving company vehicles to deliver lumber, building materials, hardware, and other building and maintenance supplies to customers' homes, construction sites, or places of business. The driver will also collect payment from customers on COD orders, verify order details, and maintain accurate delivery records. Customer service is a key aspect of this role, as the driver acts as a liaison between the customer and store personnel, addressing any complaints or requests in a timely manner. Additional responsibilities include loading vehicles safely, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, performing routine safety checks, and assisting in the yard and warehouse as needed.

  • Drives company vehicles to deliver lumber, building materials, hardware, and other supplies.
  • Collects payment from customers on COD orders and records customer information.
  • Verifies order details and obtains customer signature on delivery ticket.
  • Uses navigation tools to locate delivery addresses efficiently.
  • Records all pertinent delivery information for accurate tracking.
  • Collects and organizes required paperwork for delivery activities.
  • Acts as a customer service liaison, addressing customer complaints.
  • Informs management of customer complaints or requests.
  • Collects or picks up empty containers and unsold merchandise.
  • Loads vehicle safely and accurately.
  • Maintains cleanliness of delivery vehicles.
  • Performs routine safety checks on vehicles.
  • Assists in the yard and warehouse with stocking and organizing materials.
  • Assists customers with loading materials and product questions.
  • Complies with all company safety standards and laws.
  • Operates a forklift.
  • Attends store meetings and training sessions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Must be 23 years of age or older.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle being operated.
  • Must successfully complete all company training and certification requirements.
  • Must be qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle under FMCSR rules.
  • Must have a current and unrestricted DOT physical card.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public.
  • Experience in delivery driving or related field.
  • Familiarity with navigation tools and route planning.
  • Starting pay of $26 per hour.
  • Full-time employment.
