About The Position

American Welding and Gas, THOROUGHBRED DIVISION, has an immediate opening for a Class A Delivery Driver at our Knoxville, TN location. This position is responsible for loading, unloading, moving and storing of gas and liquid cylinders and other hard good supplies; making deliveries to customers or other branches and filling out delivery tickets completely and accuraely. Out of town routes, requiring 3-4 overnight stays per week. Hotel provided. Home on the weekends. Evening meal per diem provided

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Class A CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrakes endorsement
Clean driving record 3+ years
Able to read and write English
Successful completion of DOT pre-employment drug-screen and physical, and company administered road test
Able to move compressed gas and and liquid cylinders
Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.)
Must be comfortable using computers
Ability to communicate with customer

Responsibilities

Use company vehicle to deliver products and equipment to customers in a safe and courteous manner
Pick up returns at customer place of business
Read, understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
Comply with all DOT+OSHA Regulations
Moves, loads, and unloads empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently
Ensures appropriate preparation and/or completion and accuracy of paperwork including but not limited to shipping papers and delivery tickets
Maintains cleanliness of vehicle
Performs other duties as assigned
