About The Position

STS Packaging, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. affiliate company is currently seeking a Clamp Truck Operator in Mooresville. The Clamp Truck Operator reports to the Shift Supervisor. The primary responsibility of the Clamp Truck Operator is to work as part of the Asitrade team producing quality corrugated products. Product must be set up, created, stacked, and properly staged for movement into the die cutting area. The Clamp Truck Operator will also relieve other corrugated employees as needed.

Requirements

  • High School degree or GED.
  • Must follow Safety/GMP/PPE guidelines.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Take direction from Shift Supervisor.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Desire to accept additional responsibility and learn new tasks.
  • Work in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Ability to operate forklift proficiently and safely.
  • Ability to differentiate between good/bad product quality and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to operate a calculator and add up to 100 manually.
  • Fluent in English required.
  • Fluent in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all PIT equipment per OSHA specifications, including daily inspections, changing of batteries/propane tank, etc.
  • Perform final quality inspection of all products produced (correct packaging, correct labels, properly sealed, etc.) prior to placement on stretch wrapper.
  • Able to unload roll trucks, monitor and maintain starch system and assist with aerator.
  • Responsible for grinding up waste from asitrade.
  • Operate and maintain 'label printer' which includes: correct product and color, correct date and time; ensure roll of labels are always on machine.
  • Ensure 'Staging Areas' are organized, clean and per specifications throughout shift.
  • Relieve other corrugated personnel during breaks and meal periods.
  • Perform all housekeeping functions necessary to business operations (from daily shift requirements to Plant Sanitation audits) in respective work areas at all times.
  • Perform any and all job assignments/functions as necessary to daily business demands as instructed by Management.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area and reports unsafe conditions to Supervisor for resolution.
  • Adheres to all safety policies, including always wearing required PPE, and sets an example to others for model safety behavior.
  • Responsible for reporting any product quality or food safety issues to the Quality Manager (SQF Practitioner) or Management Team member.
  • Conform to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures and policies to assure products are suitable for food contact.
