About The Position

Position Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $22.00-$25.00 DOE Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:00 AM to 10:30 AM Experience: Must have clamp forklift operating experience. We’re looking for a skilled forklift operator who has experience using a clamp forklift to load and unload dry van trailers. Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying freight is required. A sitdown standard forklift will also be used to load and unload palletized freight. In addition to unloading/loading trailers, our forlift operator will secure cargo inside trailers using cargo straps, loadbars and will add dunnage when needed to ensure cargo is well protected from shifting, falling and damage. Forklift operators will need to inspect inbound cargo for damage prior to acceptance and prepare an exception report to promptly report damage to managment. Forklift operators are responsible for staging shipments in the proper area of the warehouse and maintaining a safe and clean warehouse and yard. This is a safety sensitive position and falls under federal drug and alcohol regulations. California Sierra Express has been in business for over 35 years. We operate six freight terminals in CA and one in Reno, NV. We're an overnight carrier that primarily serves international and domestic freight forwarders as a final mile Pick-Up and Delivery agent for shipments that travel from all over the globe by air, sea and land. You'll be joining a local team of over 65 people all committed to providing the best service possible to our customers who trust Cal Sierra to move their shipments on-time and without damage all throughout the greater Bay Area. Requirements

  • Must have clamp forklift operating experience.

Responsibilities

  • Consistent attendance Mon - Fri is mandatory.
  • Operate a forklift safely when loading shipments in and out of trailers or staging and stacking in the warehouse.
  • Comply with truck and cargo security requirements as outlined by the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA).
  • Comply with safe work practices as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA)
  • Comply with federal drug and alcohol regulations.
