Our Claims Workers’ Compensation department seeks an experienced workers' compensation specialist l-lV residing in Florida to handle medical-only and lost-time workers' compensation claims. This role is responsible for investigating and evaluating workers’ compensation insurance claims to ensure accurate settlements. Positions serving territories away from our Headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio, may be fully remote. The pay range for this position is $53,500 - $90,000 annually. Pay is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Requirements

  • the ability to work unsupervised
  • excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; problem-solving and negotiation skills; and organizational and prioritization skills
  • knowledge of jurisdiction laws, procedures and regulations
  • a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • interview insureds, claimants and witnesses
  • review hospital records
  • evaluate claim facts and application of workers’ compensation statutes
  • perform medical management of claims files
  • prepare reports of findings and secure claims completion with claimants
  • use claims-handling software, company car, laptop and phone to adjust losses in a paperless environment
  • provide superior and professional customer service
