About The Position

The Claims Technician is an entry-level claims handler responsible for proactively managing low-value and low-complexity claims with support from a line manager. The role aims to help achieve Beazley's vision of being the highest performing specialist insurer through effective claims management. The technician will support claims management staff in delivering projects and improvement initiatives, engage in continuous professional development, and work in a manner that meets client challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Analytical skills including problem solving, financial assessments of claims, and data analysis.
  • Work management skills such as time and workload management.
  • Interpersonal skills including the ability to influence others and effective communication.
  • Past claims experience establishing liability and/or settlement resolutions.
  • Functional knowledge of claims management processes and the US/RoW insurance market.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the US/RoW legal and regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of alternative resolution approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Develop capabilities to independently manage low value/low complexity claims from notification to closure.
  • Focus on claims with an expected, blend estimated, or actual value at or below $100,000.
  • Escalate claims and issues to line management as appropriate.
  • Adhere to Beazley's Claims Reserving Philosophy and Standards.
  • Develop an understanding of Beazley's Conduct Risk Policy.
  • Support Assistant Claims Managers and Claims Managers in managing the claims portfolio.
  • Review individual claims within the portfolio regularly and maintain reserves and records.
  • Develop working relationships with Underwriters.
  • Provide input to Underwriters on existing insured's claims experience under supervision.
  • Operate within approved claims authorities.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry regulations and minimum standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Beazley's claims control standards and protocols.
  • Support Claims staff with relevant tasks, projects, or initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of a continuous improvement culture within the claims function.
  • Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities.
  • Adhere to Beazley's Conflicts of Interest policy.
