About The Position

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for Casualty Claims Specialist to work out of one of the listed locations below. Scottsdale, Arizona Cheshire, Connecticut Sarasota, Florida Naperville, Illinois Rolling Meadows, Illinois Raleigh, North Carolina Omaha, Nebraska This role works a hybrid schedule from one of the above listed IAT Offices. The hybrid schedule reflects our values (thinking and acting like an owner, collaboration, and teamwork) as it requires working from the office with colleagues and other disciplines Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely. Although there is preference for an individual to work in one of the above-mentioned IAT offices, we will consider fully remote work for the ideal candidate. Responsibilities: Handles complex, high exposure claims relative to Commercial General Liability, Liquor Liability, Completed Operations, Commercial Auto, Garage Keepers Liability, AE&O, Homeowners Liability, Construction Defect, NY Labor Law Liability based on Claim Guidelines, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable Presents cases to Sr. Management for reserving and direction, as required by Claim Guidelines. Verifies/analyzes applicable coverage for the reported loss. Establishes 24-hour contact and maintain appropriate contact with all involved stakeholders throughout the life of the claim file. Investigates each claim by gathering information, conducting interviews, taking statements, conducting website research as needed, reviewing and analyzing reports and related bills. Identifies and addresses subrogation/contribution/SIU opportunities. Sets accurate/timely loss/expense reserves in compliance with Claim Guidelines. Evaluates, negotiates, and authorizes settlements with all stakeholders within designated authority. Selects, directs and manages Vendors/Counsel including approval of defense budgets. Negotiates directly with claimants and claimant attorneys upon receipt of critical information. Drafts correspondence, including but not limited to, coverage position letters and claims updates, to stakeholders as required. Evaluates Coverage and writes own Reservation of Rights and Coverage denial letters Attempts resolution of lawsuits on extension. Maintains resident/nonresident adjuster licenses as required. Travel as required to handle attending mediations and settlement conferences. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED with at least 5 years of relevant experience with Bodily Injury claims or equivalent work experience.
  • Equivalent work experience is defined as at least 9 years of experience handling Bodily Injury claims.
  • Experience handling East coast claims (specifically FL and NY).
  • Experience handling Commercial claims.
  • Experience handling bodily injury claims.
  • Coverage experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate internally and externally.
  • Ability to set priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to obtain Non-resident adjuster licensing in applicable states.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.
