About The Position

The Claims Processor I at MVT Holdings is responsible for researching and processing cargo damage claims. This role requires a high level of attention to detail to identify and resolve issues efficiently, with a strong emphasis on cost-saving measures. The position involves direct communication with customers and various departments to ensure claims are handled effectively.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of related experience or training.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with AS400 system (preferred).
• Ability to write clearly and present numerical data effectively.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to prioritize and complete administrative tasks on time.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required).

Responsibilities

• Receives first contact from customers, Fleet Supervisors, or drivers regarding damaged or missing cargo.
• Guides drivers through the process of documenting damage with photographs.
• Retrieves necessary paperwork such as bill of lading, shipping orders, and invoices, and communicates with relevant parties about claim progress.
• Determines the validity of claims and communicates outcomes to claimants.
• Coordinates claims processing with Insurance Carriers.
• Works with the accounting department to process disbursement requests and charge-backs.
• Initiates follow-up contact to identify the party at fault and appropriate settlement methods.
• Enters data into the AS400 system and maintains comprehensive records of claims from start to finish.
• Takes initial accident/incident report calls and enters new claims into the AS400 system and spreadsheets.
