We are seeking a Claims Intern to support critical departmental functions in our Wilkes-Barre, PA office while gaining exposure to real-world processes within the insurance industry from June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026. In this position, you will provide support for high exposure and litigated work injury claims including:
Requirements
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong reading and writing skills for summarizing medical reports and legal updates
- The ideal candidate is inquisitive and able to think critically
- Must be local to Wilkes-Barre, PA
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred but not required
- Perfect opportunity for college students pursuing Criminal Justice or a similar field of study
Responsibilities
- Review claim files for coding accuracy and data integrity
- Analyze prior and subsequent loss history to identify potential fraud indicators or mitigation opportunities
- Assist with reserve adequacy reviews under supervision of claims leadership
- Participate in experimental and pilot use of AI tools within the claims process
- Gain hands-on experience across multiple lines of business within Claims, as workload and projects allow
