This position will be responsible for the investigation and resolution of lower to medium complexity and lower to medium exposure claims. These claims will consist of non-litigated and litigated matters. Under general supervision, this position will be able to manage a full claim workload with minimal assistance and be responsible for making sound decisions within delegated authority. Adheres to Fair Claims Practices regulations as applicable in various states. Minimal travel required.

Requirements

  • Active All Lines Claims Adjuster License required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of general liability claims handling
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and sound judgment in decision-making
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve bodily injury and property damage claims (up to $250,000).
  • Confirm coverage, analyze liability and damages, and communicate coverage positions clearly.
  • Draft detailed coverage position letters and identify potential SIU referrals.
  • Direct and coordinate investigations to determine loss facts and exposures.
  • Establish and adjust reserves appropriately and make recommendations as needed.
  • Represent Markel in mediations as required.
  • Maintain compliance with Fair Claims Practices regulations and internal standards.
  • Provide responsive, professional customer service while managing production goals.
  • Collaborate with peers and management on special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
