The Claims Data Entry Clerk serves as a crucial first step in claims processing, with direct accountability for timely and accurate analysis and entry of claim information into electronic databases, ensuring data flows smoothly into the system, preventing delays and errors in payments. On the day-to-day, you will: Accurately enter alphanumeric data, policy numbers, procedure codes, and billing amounts from various documents into databases and claims systems Review entries for accuracy, completeness, and consistency against source documents Identify and resolve inaccuracies in patient demographics, service codes, coverage details, and missing information Sort, file, and organize electronic claim files and supporting records Prepare reports, maintain logs, and ensure accurate status updates on claims Contact providers or internal teams to gather missing information or clarify claim details
