About The Position

The job functions listed below represent the essential job duties and responsibilities of the above-listed position. Responsible for the investigation of home damage claims by obtaining information from client’s portals such as Bob’s Discount Furniture, Home Depot, Macy’s, Cardi’s, Ethan Allen, Mattress Firm • Provide weekly summaries to these clients in order to keep them updated on the progress of open claims. • Secure proper records, documentation, photos, and estimates from upset customers by putting them at ease ensuring that their claims will be handled efficiently for proper settlement and restoration to their property. • Analyze claims to determine the probable cause, negligence, and damages. • Communicate findings with Depot Managers at weekly claims meetings for resolution. • Call customers advising them of their settlement amounts. • Process driver debits and submit them to accounts payable for customer settlement checks and charge back the corresponding independent contractors for the damages caused at the time of delivery. • Ability to communicate directly with drivers, customers, 3rd party claimants, independent adjusters, law enforcement officers, and other stakeholders. Able to make independent decisions on when to adjust approach and information being asked/requested based on situation. • Use multiple operating systems simultaneously to perform tasks. • Other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel

Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication.
This position requires 75 – 80% of independent decision-making ability.
Document all claim activity timely and effectively in a manner which supports the outcome of the claim file.
Proficient in the art of advanced listening, negotiation skills and time management.
Strong analytical skills necessary to make decisions and resolve issues inherent in the handling of claims.
Must be able to work in a team driven environment.
PC proficient.
Associate’s degree in Claims, Risk management, and/or equivalent motor vehicle accident transportation claims experience.
