We're on the lookout for a Claims Assistant to support claims adjusters with tasks that promote the handling and resolution of claims.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in a claims environment such as third party administrator or insurance carrier.
  • Proactive, independent, dependable, and takes initiative with consistent follow through
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills conducted in a timely manner with diverse audiences
  • Superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional data entry skills.
  • Capable of working collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
  • Exhibit discretion with sensitive and confidential information
  • Display a comfort level working with key people at all levels within an organization

Responsibilities

  • Correspondence: Preparing and sending emails, letters, and reports (e.g., retention letters, coverage letters, deductible letters, denial letters, and settlement letters) to insureds, defense counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Invoice and Payment Management: Tracking, reconciling, and updating invoices paid by insureds and vendors, as well as handling deductible and settlement checks.
  • Administrative Tasks: Uploading documents, scanning, downloading, mailing correspondence, setting up new claims and managing claim systems
  • Expense Tracking: Recording costs for postage, photocopying, and other administrative expenses.
