About The Position

Marsh is a global leader in consulting, risk management, and insurance broking, operating in over 130 countries with a workforce of 45,000 colleagues. The company provides a range of services including risk management, risk consulting, insurance broking, alternative risk financing, and insurance program management to businesses, government entities, organizations, and individuals worldwide. Marsh Advisory, a key differentiator for the company, consists of three business units: Consulting Solutions, Analytics Solutions, and Claims Solutions. This division helps clients anticipate challenges and seize emerging opportunities through proactive risk advice that fosters resilience and confidence. The Summer Program at Marsh offers an excellent opportunity for college juniors to gain hands-on experience during a robust 10-week internship. High-performing interns may receive offers for the full-time Associates Program at the end of the summer. The Marsh Advisory Associate Program is a two-year rotational program designed to equip participants with the skills necessary to accelerate their careers at Marsh. Interns in the Claims Advocacy track will be exposed to various claim advisory disciplines, including workers compensation, auto liability, general liability/products liability, and property claims. Specific deliverables may include claim reporting, coverage analysis for claim acceptance, claim reviews, broker requests for proposals, and assisting clients with general claim servicing issues. A typical day in Claims Advocacy may involve assisting clients in mitigating risks, maximizing recoveries, and optimizing the total cost of risk across their portfolios. Interns will engage in clients' claims programs, deploy creative strategies to resolve claims issues, liaise with insurers and their advisors, chair meetings with clients and insurers, lead claims discussions in renewal meetings and RFPs, and participate in developing strategic business plans for a line of business. Interns will also navigate insurance policies and provide recommendations regarding coverage and claims exposures.
