As a Claims Advisor in Professional Liability, you will analyze complex or technically difficult healthcare, environmental, management, executive, cyber, professional liability, error and omissions, and complex liability claims. Your role will involve providing resolution of highly complex nature and/or severe injury claims, coordinating case management within company standards, industry best practices, and specific client service requirements, while managing the total claim costs and providing high levels of customer service. You will be responsible for investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim, managing claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution, and conducting or assigning full investigations pertaining to new events, claims, and legal actions. In this position, you will negotiate claim settlements, calculate and assign timely and appropriate reserves to claims, and recommend settlement strategies. You will also perform coverage analysis and opinion as part of the claim process, coordinate legal defense, and use appropriate cost containment techniques to reduce overall claim costs for our clients. Your role will require you to represent the company in depositions, mediations, and trial monitoring as needed, while maintaining professional client relationships and ensuring claim files are properly documented. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor others and delegate work as appropriate.
