About The Position

We are currently seeking a Property Claims Manager to join our Digital Adjusting Team (DAT) to supervise a team of adjusters handling claims throughout North America. The position requires the candidate to be located in Phoenix, Arizona where the candidate will be required to work an in-office schedule adhering to our flexible work arrangement of 4/1 with manager approval. The position will be responsible for the administrative management, staff development, and technical claim results for one team of property adjusters. The individual will collaborate with and report to the Pacific-based AVP, Claim Manager and be responsible for delivering excellent financial and service results as well as a high-quality product. The position will also be responsible for developing staff, succession planning, and executing strategies to achieve goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years property claims handling experience.
  • Prior Supervisory and/or Management experience with direct oversight of direct reports handling property claims.
  • Prior estimating writing experience in Xactimate, Cotality or similar estimating software platforms.
  • Experience managing both in-office and remote staff.
  • Working knowledge of applicable jurisdiction.
  • 4-year college degree or approximately 10 years equivalent of property claims experience.
  • Ability to secure Property & Casualty adjusters license within first 6 months of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive knowledge of personal insurance contracts, investigation techniques, legal requirements, and department of insurance regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and interpret Commercial property contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of Chubb's systems, procedures, claims handling philosophy and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of adjusters handling property claims throughout North America.
  • Manage administrative tasks, staff development, and technical claim results.
  • Collaborate with and report to the Pacific-based AVP, Claim Manager.
  • Deliver excellent financial and service results.
  • Develop staff and execute succession planning.
  • Oversee estimating for direct reports with experience in Xactimate, Cotality or similar systems.
  • Drive actions to recognize exposure and provide direction to direct reports.
  • Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to and exceeding $500,000.
  • Make timely and accurate decisions.
  • Manage performance, salary administration, training, and staff development.
  • Ensure direct reports complete virtual inspections and utilize digital technology for evaluations.
  • Evaluate contract language and identify coverage issues.
  • Maintain active and current diary for assigned claims.
  • Provide oversight and direction related to files and performance of claims.
  • Support team in pursuit of recovery and identification of potentially fraudulent claims.
  • Adhere to statutory and regulatory fair claims practices.
  • Communicate effectively and support others in achieving objectives.
  • Manage business relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Be available for on-call rotation during weekends and weekdays during heavy volume.
