About The Position

This position will be supporting our Logistics and Services business, which includes air, drayage, warehousing, and other value-added services. You will manage, handle, and follow the activities of the claim process through close interactions with stakeholders by providing timely acknowledgements on new receipts, investigation, and insurance reporting when necessary. You will also be responsible for direct settlement negotiations with the claimant and the finalization of the claim which includes coordination and execution of the General Release, claim payment, and closure of the claim case in our claims management system. You have a strong passion for data quality and understand its critical role in driving operational excellence.

Requirements

  • A moderate understanding of the Maritime, Logistics, and/or Transportation industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills - verbal, written and presentation.
  • The ability to communicate efficiently, quickly and provide precise details.
  • Organizational and time management skills - multi-tasking and prioritizing, planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines and high-level goals.
  • Good influencing, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • A drive for results and success, have a sense of urgency and drive issues to closure despite obstacles and opposition.
  • Team player - works together with others in the business unit to achieve results, fosters teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • JL3: 3-5 years of experience in Maritime, Logistics, and/or Transportation.
  • Microsoft Office and Windows proficiency.
  • Strong written/oral communications, bilingual a plus (Spanish).
  • Experience in cargo claim handling, subrogation, loss prevention, or legal preferred.
  • Strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all activities related to claim management, including identifying and pursuing recovery.
  • Engage directly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient resolution of claims.
  • Create and maintain claim file in accordance with company best practices and audit requirements.
  • Review and interpret contracts against the merits of the claim.
  • Assist legal teams globally, gathering internal and external information and documentation for defense purposes on lawsuits and/or other legal proceedings.
  • Mitigate liability exposure via negotiations and by providing root cause analysis and help establish preventative measures and/or changes in processes/policies when warranted.
  • Create, formulate, and manage SOPs related to the processes/procedures of CA's specific job responsibilities with guidance by its direct manager.
  • Offer support and assistance to other senior members in NAM Regional Claims Hub when necessary, by processing claim settlement payments, vendor invoices, and other ad hoc projects or other job-related duties as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties.
