About The Position

The Civilian Crime Prevention Practitioner is responsible for implementing crime prevention strategies within the community, particularly in public housing complexes and surrounding neighborhoods. This role involves engaging with residents, especially youth, to educate them on crime reporting, anti-drug initiatives, and neighborhood watch programs. The practitioner will conduct presentations, mentor community members, and collaborate with law enforcement and social organizations to foster a safer environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Six months of public speaking experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and writing skills are essential.
  • Ability to analyze community needs and develop appropriate crime prevention strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in community outreach or public safety programs.
  • Familiarity with audio-visual equipment for presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, organize, and instruct residents on crime prevention techniques.
