About The Position

STV’s Austin, TX location is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer for our Water Practice Group. STV specializes in the planning, organization, and development of engineering activities for the design, construction, and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities and pipelines. Our engineers work on high quality, high-profile, national, and international projects. As a Water/Wastewater Engineer, you will actively participate in the full project cycle, from the design phase through the final construction close-out. In this position you will perform engineering design tasks to support the Project Team in the execution and delivery of water and wastewater projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited University or NCEES equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in water and wastewater systems design
  • TX PE License is required.
  • Experience working with local municipalities and utility companies.
  • Ability to work and communicate well will other design disciplines.
  • Possesses strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with production tools, or modeling and design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Production of contract documents including plans and specifications
  • Perform pipeline hydraulic flow and pressure calculations.
  • Perform pump calculations and develop system curves for sizing pumps.
  • Prepares construction and design cost estimates.
  • Develop project specifications.
  • Perform engineering duties in planning and designing water and wastewater pipelines, pumping, storage, and treatment systems.
  • Responsible for or willingness to learn project management, client interface and business development of future projects.
  • Make site visits during design and construction to observe the construction installation.
  • Review construction shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project design documents.
