About The Position

Tetra Tech is seeking a Mid-Level Civil / Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role involves expertise in hydrological and hydraulic modeling, as well as developing water resource-related engineering designs. The engineer will manage projects, prepare proposals, and ensure efficient project completion while working across various market sectors. The position offers a flexible hybrid work setting and emphasizes the importance of developing resilient infrastructure and watersheds in response to climate change.

Requirements

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on water resources; M.S. preferred.
• 3-8+ years of civil engineering work experience; advanced degree may substitute for experience.
• Experience in stormwater management, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and erosion control.
• Proficiency in civil design programs such as HEC, AutoCAD/Civil3D, and SWMM.
• Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead field data collection and construction oversight.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ArcGIS, Global Mapper, and GoldSim.
• MSHA and/or OSHA HAZWOPER certification or ability to acquire it.

Responsibilities

• Proposal preparation and project management.
• Conducting hydrological and hydraulic modeling.
• Designing stormwater conveyance and retention/detention systems.
• Performing site reconnaissance and on-site evaluations.
• Preparing reports and technical memorandums.
• Developing engineering cost estimates and bid specifications.
• Overseeing construction activities and compliance.
• Compiling and evaluating environmental data.
