About The Position

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, New York October 15-17. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026. AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Civil/Water Resources Engineer Intern for employment in the Bloomfield, NJ office. AECOM is searching for candidates who can be client-focused, impactful, and decisive. This position is expected to begin in May/June 2026.

Requirements

• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Water, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• Must have completed at least 2 years of study.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework related to civil engineering, site design, stormwater management, water quality, hydrology and hydraulics, stream restoration, or related classes.
• Capable of using spreadsheets, word processing, and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
• Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Stormwater modeling, analysis, and design with software like GIS, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS.
• Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections within the Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Assist in the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses related to floodplain management studies and a variety of water resource projects.
• Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
• Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
