As we continue to expand our Buford, Georgia operations, we are seeking a Civil Transportation Engineer who can bring technical expertise, leadership, and innovation to our growing design team. We are seeking a Civil Transportation Engineer with 5–10 years of design experience to join our Buford, GA team. This position supports transportation and ITS design projects, performing engineering calculations and plan development for state and municipal clients. The ideal candidate will be a Georgia PE or able to obtain one within 6 months. This site is accessible via public transportation; reliable transportation will be a requirement

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering (required).
5–10 years of related transportation or traffic design experience.
Georgia PE license (preferred) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Proficient in MicroStation CAD (Geopak or OpenRoads experience a plus).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with GDOT standards and traffic design software (VISSIM, Synchro, AGi32 preferred but not required).
Applicant will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Record Check. Satisfactory driving records are required for driving company or personal vehicles and motor driven equipment to conduct company business.
Applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Safety impact employees will be subject to additional drug and alcohol testing throughout his/her employment.
As part of its employment process, M-B may procure or have prepared a criminal background check. An applicant with an unsatisfactory criminal background check report is ineligible to be hired for the position for which the report is initiated.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Develop and review traffic, lighting, and ITS design plans using MicroStation.
Prepare engineering calculations, PS&E packages, and cost estimates.
Support signal, signing, and traffic control plan development.
Coordinate with project managers, clients, and internal teams to meet deadlines.
Provide technical guidance to junior staff and assist with QA/QC.
