About The Position

The Special Projects Division of KPFF is seeking a Civil Transportation Engineer to join their team in Seattle or Tacoma, WA. This role involves working on a variety of heavy civil and industrial infrastructure projects, focusing on roadway and transportation improvements. The position emphasizes design, project management, and client service, providing an opportunity to enhance engineering skills and contribute to innovative solutions in a supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Minimum 4 years of full-time experience in civil/site development engineering design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs and advanced MicroStation, InRoads, and Openroads design experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and techniques.
  • Experience in preparing roadway/transportation design documents and specifications.
  • Familiarity with WSDOT Standard Plans and Standard Specifications and Design Manual.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Civil3D, and other engineering design software.
  • Additional experience on waterfront and industrial site infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering expertise to diverse civil design projects, including linear utility projects and street improvements.
  • Contribute to waterfront and industrial development projects, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Assess risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and understand permitting requirements.
  • Identify and solve challenges using innovative engineering techniques.
  • Assist in managing project tasks, timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Mentor team members to support their professional growth and development.
  • Foster strong client relationships through clear communication and customized solutions.
