About The Position

The Civil/Structural Designer at Audubon will be responsible for designing civil and structural equipment, components, and systems. This role involves preparing detailed drawings, performing calculations, and ensuring accuracy in designs while collaborating with various stakeholders. The designer will also focus on product improvements and cost reductions, utilizing CAD software to create layouts and technical specifications.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's Degree from a Technical Institution preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience preferred.
  • AutoCAD software experience required.
  • CADWorx and PDMS software experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office software experience preferred.
  • Field experience required.
  • Experience in offshore oil & gas, onshore gas processing, hydrocarbon storage, and chemical manufacturing required.
  • Small project lead experience required.
  • Medium/Large project lead experience preferred.
  • Ability to find solutions for work-related problems.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions and request clarification.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to think creatively to produce new concepts or ideas.
  • Ability to make decisions to solve problems or reach goals.

  • Ability to read and understand drawing markups and engineering drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CADWorx and PDMS software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs, and working drawings.
  • Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate a preliminary design.
  • Perform basic calculations and trigonometry functions associated with area, volume, slope, etc.
  • Check and verify accuracy of drawings prepared by others.
  • Prepare bills of material (BOM) and specifications when drawings are complete.
  • Revise drawings and BOM consistent with engineering changes.
  • Implement revisions and change control per company standards.
  • Assemble information and reference drawings from various sources.
  • Look for product improvements and cost reductions.
  • Determine and initiate drawings/models based on optimal views for construction.
  • Assist with performing field surveys and documenting existing conditions.
  • Check field red-lined drawings and generate accurate as-built drawings.
  • Design components or portions of systems and modify existing designs.
  • Utilize 2D or 3D CAD software to create layouts and assembly drawings.
  • Create technical specifications for procurement and installation of components.
  • Create documentation for Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Utilize engineering sketches and specifications in designing and detailing parts.
  • Identify dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, and materials for construction.
  • Analyze proposed changes for fit and interference problems and recommend solutions.
  • Produce drawings and deliverables within project-approved schedule and budget.
  • Maintain proper file management according to company standards.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Perform field data gathering to complete project deliverables.
  • Track and maintain awareness of overall schedule and budget for projects.
  • Comply with all company and client HSSE standards and regulations.
  • Participate in hazard identification and observation programs.
