A structural engineer is responsible for designing any kind of structure so that it can fulfil a specific purpose, and remain safe, economic and functioning throughout its intended lifetime. Structural engineering is about investigating both the immediate loads and demands on the structure, as well as any likely future changes, and ensuring a structure is designed to withstand those loads. Duties: Provide design and construction oversight of structural engineering tasks on assigned SRR Engineering Teams. Structural engineering tasks include: analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs; design of concrete structures; design of steel, aluminium, stainless steel, timber and composite structures; foundation and anchorage design; structural analysis for impact, overpressure, and other accident conditions; preparation of CSI specifications; and review of vendor documents. Individual at times will be required to travel off Site to interface with vendors, fabricators and other Engineering organizations. Engineering services will be provided using SRR processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.
