Keystone Engineering is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Metairie team. The Metairie Civil/Structural Engineering department is a well-rounded team of engineers with various levels of experience and a wide range of project backgrounds. The group prides itself on being a collaborative team that works together to solve complex problems for our clients. Our clients applaud our ability to use outside-the-box thinking to deliver unconventional solutions when needed. Most of our projects are executed using local teams that work in proximity to the other engineers and designers on the project. Our team members largely come from oil & gas or energy structural engineering backgrounds. Traditionally, engineering teams have divided this work into either the offshore or onshore category, but many of our team members integrate seamlessly across these project types and the spaces in between. Whether it's learning something new or teaching your skillset to others, your teamwork will be valued in the Metairie Civil/Structural Engineering department at Keystone.

  • Performs basic engineering calculations, analyses, and other tasks using prescribed methods and company procedures.
  • Applies engineering principles with direction from his/her supervisor.
  • Interfaces with other technical disciplines, vendors, and contractors.
  • Interfaces with the design and drafting department to provide any required information and review work.
  • Assists in organizing project records.
  • Participate in site visits with more experienced engineers and/or designers.
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university, structural emphasis preferred.
  • 3-8 years of experience in civil/structural engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Engineer-in-Training working toward P.E. licensure.
  • Experience with at least one structural analysis software (Bentley SACS, RISA-3D, or STAAD.Pro) and the willingness to learn additional platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
  • Self-motivated, creative, organized, and an advocate for effective solutions.
  • Applicant must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
  • Applicant must possess a current, valid TWIC card or be capable of obtaining one within 90 days.
  • Background in designing structural steel, reinforced concrete structures, and foundations for oil & gas or other industrial facilities.
  • Application of industry codes including AISC (9th & 15th editions), ASCE 7, API-RP2A, and/or ACI 318.
  • Experience with RISAFoundation for structural analysis.
  • Experience with bolted and welded connection design.
  • Familiarity with Process Industry Practices (PIP) design guides, specifications, and standard details.
