About The Position

The position involves providing forensic consulting services requiring civil/structural engineering expertise for various clients, assessing and determining the cause and origin of structural failures and/or damage, and providing reports and expert testimony as needed. The role requires managing multiple projects and ensuring safety and due diligence during project completion.

Requirements

• B.S. Civil or Structural Engineering degree or higher.
• PE license required in the state of employment or the ability to obtain it quickly.
• NCEE record preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering.
• Project Management and/or Field Investigation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform investigations and analysis of residential, commercial, and industrial properties to resolve claims and legal matters.
• Conduct forensic assignments within the field of civil/structural engineering based on a pre-agreed scope of work and budget.
• Study and determine the cause and origin of construction defects or structural failures and/or damage.
• Gather photographic evidence, conduct investigations, oversee field testing, and review relevant documentation.
• Prepare oral and written reports documenting causes of failure, extent of loss, and recommended remediation.
• Manage multiple projects and coordinate with other experts to produce timely client reports.
• Ensure procedures are followed and perform safety and due diligence during project completion.
• Develop and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships.
