About The Position

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Engineering Designer to join our Civil/Site team in Hamilton, NJ! This role offers hands-on experience supporting a diverse portfolio of projects, including solar, residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use developments. You’ll assist with site planning, stormwater management, grading, drainage, utility design, permitting, and technical documentation, while working in AutoCAD Civil 3D alongside experienced project managers and multidisciplinary teams. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 0-2+ years of experience in site/civil land development or related engineering fields.
  • EIT preferred.
  • Ability to research and apply local city, county and state land use processes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading and other site development related designs.
  • Demonstrated AutoCAD Civil 3D skills with the ability to design site layouts concept through completion.
  • Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, in a team environment.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare construction drawings, plans, and project specifications.
  • Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, grading plans, street improvements, utilities and specifications.
  • Ensure technical accuracy, compliance with standard engineering practices, and proper documentation of all plans, reports, and design documents.
  • Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and propose solutions, with guidance from senior engineers and project managers.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Assist in performing basic stormwater calculations and reporting.
  • Plot and assemble civil engineering plans and reports.
  • Assist other departments with engineering and technical support needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
