Our team is an energetic, dynamic group with diverse professional backgrounds. We collaborate in a team atmosphere to produce top quality work and make our clients happy as their trusted advisor! In this role you will work on an interesting portfolio of different types of land and site development projects. As a Designer II, you will use your skills and knowledge, and gain new skills, that will allow you to work alongside Project Managers to produce engineering models, analysis, designs, and supporting calculations and documents. You will also coordinate and produce drafting of projects elements for various clients. Location This position will report to our Wilmington office. The Impact You Will Have Collect, organize, document, and communicate data and perform modeling, analysis, and/or design calculations of projects elements. Produce completed plans for permitting and construction as well as concept plans, advanced planning, and master planning under direction of others. Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items. Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards. Coordinate drafting of plan elements. Help produce a fully coordinated set of project documents including plans and specifications, inspections at project construction locations as well as pre-construction diligence. Develop cursory knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software. Help towards our goal to be one of the best companies in North Carolina as demonstrated by the qualities and accuracy of our design as well as the ability to provide our clients what they want so they can reach their objectives and goals.

Requirements

  • Civil Engineering degree or related discipline required.
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D is a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.
  • Willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks. This position may include the need to perform field inspection and may require travel to project sites.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and graphic (i.e., drafting fundamentals)).
  • Detailed and organized individual who thrives in environments that are deadline driven.

  • E.I.T. and desire to work towards P.E. in the future, preferred.
