About The Position

We are seeking a Civil Project Manager to lead project teams, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure a high level of client satisfaction. Position Overview The Civil Project Manager will oversee civil engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring full compliance with engineering standards, municipal regulations, and client requirements. Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, quality control, coordination, and resource planning to ensure efficient and successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan (must be in good standing).
  • Minimum 5 years of civil engineering project management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of design experience.
  • Strong understanding of municipal review processes, zoning ordinances, and site plan approvals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze technical data, interpret engineering documents, and make informed decisions.
  • Experience working collaboratively with clients, municipalities, agencies, and project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong communication with clients throughout all project phases.
  • Develop clear, well-defined project proposals and scopes of work.
  • Determine project scope, budget, timelines, and required resources.
  • Oversee civil engineering design work related to stormwater management, erosion control, utility infrastructure, roadway improvements, and grading.
  • Utilise AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software to produce engineering plans, technical drawings, and design documentation.
  • Conduct research and analyze reports, maps, soils data, and test results to support engineering recommendations.
  • Prepare cost estimates, technical reports, design specifications, and formal project proposals.
  • Perform construction site visits, field observations, and documentation to verify compliance with approved plans.
  • Follow established quality control procedures and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Establish and monitor project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with engineering leadership to allocate resources and personnel effectively.
  • Track project progress, document adjustments, and secure approvals for scope or budget changes.
  • Provide weekly project status updates, schedule forecasts, and budget tracking reports.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance project efficiency.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, designers, and support team members.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, industry standards, and internal company policies.
  • Maintain organized project files, documentation, and structured workspaces.
