About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join our growing Civil/Site Design team in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience in site design, stormwater management, grading, drainage, and utility design. This position offers the unique opportunity to collaborate and learn from some of the best engineers, project managers, and technical staff in the industry. Our Civil engineers are integral to a site development team, designing improvements including site layout, utilities, grading, drainage, erosion control, and stormwater management for a wide range of private and public clients throughout Virginia and the US.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in engineering with at least 4 years in project management, focusing on civil engineering project delivery.
  • Professional Engineering License in Virginia or the ability to become licensed within three (3) months.
  • Successful track record of project delivery through planning, preliminary and final design, including a strong desire for superior client service and delivery.
  • Proven ability to lead a team of engineers and designers.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on time and within budget.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to create and maintain budgets at both the project and corporate level.
  • Experience in the business development process within a team environment.

  • Experience working with clients such as municipalities, counties, commercial and industrial entities.
  • Demonstrated civil engineering design and project management experience on a variety of projects throughout Virginia.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving scope, schedule, and budget goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of two (2) to four (4) engineers and CAD designers.
  • Lead Civil Engineering project aspects including studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and participate in client meetings.
  • Plan, model, and design facilities such as public and private facilities, including design elements of site layout, utilities, grading, drainage, erosion control, and stormwater management.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide project management on various sized projects resulting in successful outcomes for the client, the company, and staff. Ensure adherence to budgets and schedules.
  • Execute engineering best practices for civil engineering projects for a wide variety of clients, adapting to new environments quickly.
