AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a Civil Manager to join our Water group in the AECOM Los Angeles California office. As a Civil Manager, you will lead technical design teams in creating conceptual layouts and designs for water resources projects, including flood control, storm drains, pump stations, and green stormwater projects. Your responsibilities will include managing the preparation of comprehensive construction package deliverables, developing hydrologic and hydraulic models, permit applications, and technical studies. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong project management skills, mentor junior staff, and develop high-performing teams in a collaborative environment. Job Description Responsible for assisting with the preparation and successful completion of construction package deliverables (design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, alternatives analysis, technical memoranda, and design documentation reports). Generate conceptual layouts/designs of flood control structures, floodgates, channels, culverts, headwalls, detention ponds, spillways, rock drains, and underground storm drain systems. Serve as lead engineer or discipline lead on mid- to large size projects. Work with existing and potential clients to provide long-term stormwater management solutions for clean water projects. Develop project proposals and work with other business leaders to support and grow the surface water practice in the Los Angeles region. Provide direction to and mentoring other technical staff in completing project tasks. Performs independent technical reviews of engineering reports and design and signs off on work. May be responsible for Project teams that include 5 or more members often representing multiple disciplines including subcontractor(s). Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering project, focusing on the surface water projects. Provide advice and consultation to client on engineering matters, including compliance with government laws and regulations. Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and drainage/civil design Preparing and reviewing working drawings, plans, cost estimates, studies, reports, and other work products. Analysis and design of stormwater drainage system, hydraulic structures, and roadway drainage systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills
