About The Position

Merrick & Company is seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our growing Land Development team in our Charlotte, North Carolina office with a target start date in May or June 2026. Some travel to client sites in North Carolina and South Carolina. Annual salary range for this position is $72,300.00 - $88,300.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. #LI-Hybrid

Requirements

  • Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Sciences in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program.
  • Zero (0) – Four (4) years of experience in Land Development and/or Public Works.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Fundamentals of Engineering / Engineer- in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • Recent demonstrable experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent design tasks, preparing construction drawings, organizing reports, calculations, and associated project deliverables.
  • Work within a team of Design Engineers and technicians on Land Development and municipal projects.
  • Prepare and review working drawings, details, layouts, surveys, estimates, and work products.
  • Exercise initiative, judgment, and knowledge as required in areas of responsibility.
  • Interface with clients, and Local, State, and Federal government agencies.
  • Some travel to client sites in North Carolina and South Carolina.
