About The Position

The Civil/ Horizontal Project Manager will serve as the primary manager of all civil, horizontal and land-based construction and development in Spanish Peaks Mountain Club. This position may manage other projects in the LMLC portfolio outside of Spanish Peaks. Projects may include roads and utilities, dry utilities, ski access and amenities, forestry, trails and other civil projects. The Civil/Horizontal PM will serve as the coordinator between 3rd party civil engineering, civil contractors and ownership. The project manager will work with company vertical Project managers when civil and vertical construction accompany each other. Other duties will include the procurement and oversite of all environmental permits, site remediation as well as some surveying and minor CAD drawings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science – Civil Engineering, CET or equivalent, or minimum 4 years relevant and equivalent experience
  • Thorough understanding of the materials and methods used in the construction of infrastructure
  • Thorough knowledge of Blue Beam or equivalent and ability to develop/ manage project plan management, workflows, work plans and schedules
  • Experience developing and managing critical path schedules
  • Experience developing and management safe work zones, safe work habit enforcement and ability to recognize unsafe practices
  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of weather and job conditions
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist others in lifting heavier amounts
  • Ability to perform work that may require bending, stooping, crawling, and climbing
  • Ability to traverse terrain with substantial elevation differences
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to give concise oral and written instructions
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with the public, customers, contractors, and suppliers
  • Knowledge of surveying equipment such as levels, total stations, and GPS gear sufficient to perform minor surveying tasks
  • Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet programs
  • Familiarity with GIS-based programs

Responsibilities

  • Lead Civil/ Horizontal planning
  • Manage Civil engineering contractors
  • Manage construction plans, specifications, and bid documents
  • Development of construction cost estimates
  • Construction inspections
  • Coordination with regulatory agencies on all necessary permits (310, 404, Stormwater, etc) and compliance
  • Ensure site remediation
  • Project budgeting/scheduling/tracking
  • Closely work with vertical PM’s on all project crossover
  • Procure and manage survey subcontractors
  • Support vertical PM’s with project and site survey
  • Manage easement exhibits
  • Manage all maps and drawings
  • Produce maps and drawings
  • Land planning
  • Business unit planning
  • Stream and spring monitoring
  • Environmental Stewardship Program
  • Manage all civil/ horizontal projects and all tasks required to meet the needs of LMLC staff and organization
