About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Civil, Environmental, Water, or Construction Engineering Co-op for Summer and Fall 2026 to support a diverse portfolio of projects in Syracuse, NY. This hybrid role requires some in-office presence, and candidates must live in the Syracuse area, as housing stipends or relocation assistance are not provided. This opportunity allows students to gain hands-on experience in areas such as environmental consulting, design, or construction, depending on the specific group(s) they work with. Ideal candidates will be pursuing a degree in Civil, Environmental, Water, or Construction Engineering and are eager to apply their skills to real-world projects while contributing to Arcadis' mission of improving quality of life. The role sits within our global business area Resilience, where we work to protect natural environments, water resources, and communities, while driving sustainable solutions for future generations.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil, Environmental, Water, or Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or field experience with engineering design, construction management, or environmental remediation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; skills in AutoCAD, GIS, programming, or hydraulic modeling are a plus.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred for construction-focused roles.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in engineering design and planning for water, wastewater, stormwater, remediation, and land development projects.
  • Preparing permit/construction-level drawings, design reports, and technical specifications.
  • Conducting site visits, field investigations, and collecting samples for soil, water, and vapor analyses.
  • Supporting construction administration, including tracking schedules, costs, and field reports.
  • Performing hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion control evaluations, and earthwork site design.
  • Compiling and interpreting data, writing reports, and supporting proposal development.
