About The Position

Tetra Tech is seeking Civil & Environmental Engineering Interns to support our Water/Wastewater group. As part of our team, you'll gain hands-on experience working on a wide range of municipal projects - from collection and conveyance systems to pump stations, storage, treatment facilities, and rehabilitation efforts. Position Summary: The Civil & Environmental Engineering Intern will assist in the design, permitting, and construction support of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This position provides an opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges while contributing to sustainable public infrastructure solutions.

Requirements

  • Third- or fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Interest in sustainable design and public infrastructure solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or prior internship experience in water, wastewater, or environmental engineering
  • familiarity with GIS, hydraulic modeling, or construction inspection
  • demonstrated teamwork and initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and permitting of municipal water/wastewater projects.
  • Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses.
  • Contribute to the preparation of engineering reports and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate and interface with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute tasks in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and compliant manner.
