On any given day, you’ll: Work on a wide variety of projects including sanitary sewers, streets, drainage and storm sewers, wastewater and water facilities, site grading and restoration. Collaborate with a design team to discuss project objectives, challenges, and identify design strategies to provide our clients with smart, creative solutions. Work with a design team or independently for design, drafting, and plan preparation. Maintain project quality and efficiency while staying current on the latest CAD trends. Collaborate with other company CAD users to maintain plan standards. Perform construction observation of municipal infrastructure projects. Prepare reports, review design standards and code requirements, and conduct field investigation of design problems. Perform quantity measurements and computations, record keeping, contractor pay estimate preparation and review of contractor progress; materials testing; field staking and general inspection for municipal road and utility projects. Interpret construction drawings and specifications and take appropriate action to ensure the project is constructed in conformance with the requirements of the project construction contract. Maintain client relations while in the field.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering technology or equivalent.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to walk over uneven terrain and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous municipal infrastructure construction observation experience, including sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water main, and roadway construction experience would be beneficial.
  • Experience in excel and word.
  • Experience working in AutoCAD and Civil3D.
  • Staking/survey experience.
  • Strong written/verbal communications skills and the ability to operate independently.
